I've started working on this Keyblade since yesterday, this model will be very suitable for a cosplay, in fact, I'm planning on selling this one once it's finished I'm also plannin to make it really durable and sturdy yet light enough as to swing it in the air with no effort and without risk of breaking or losing parts.
It's 92 cm long (3 in.), I've placed a 75 cm steel ruler by its side so you can get an idea on how long the Keyblade is
EDIT 1: You can see how it's going by now , at this point I've finished covering the basic pieces with a few layers of paper mache to incorporate all pieces in a single structure. This does not only make the Keyblade stronger, but also very light to carry (as I expected) and even to swing around
EDIT 2: I've changed the "format" of the WIP's, steps will be marked as "A, B, C" and so as I advance
Last edit (01-1-13).
Until now:
A) Basic structure of the Keyblade. Materials used: A wooden stick and pieces of cardboard and special Illustration cardboard.
B) Basic structure covered in paper mache. New materials: newspaper pieces and homemade paste.
C) More paper mache layers applied. Paper mache work is now finished, keychain added and covered with paper as well. Assemblage completed!
D) I've put some white DAS clay in certain places, once it dried, I made its surface smoother using thin sandpaper.
E) All the structure (except for the grip) was painted with white acrylic color. The Keyblade is now ready for the last paint work, finally!
And so this series of WIP's has concluded, thanks to all who watched and commented on my work
Applying a white layer before any other colors "cleanses" the piece so they will look better with less covering, this not only allows a better finishing but also helps economize materials And since I use japanese acrylic paints, it's worth even more
buena suerte Hal!
No te preocupes Hal
Siento que ayer no pudiera enseñarte los Giggis en parte es mejor, porque no estaban acabados
